It's an exciting time of the year on the farm. Maple season has just come to an end and the bountiful spring and summer seasons at Madava Farms are right around the corner. Our six acre chef's garden is being prepared for 2013's planting and Farmer Scott Boggs has another surprise addition to the farm this year - a fruit orchard featuring apples, pears, peaches and more.
Visit Madava Farms on Saturdays and Sundays through mid-December from 11 am until 5 pm. Join us for a walk in the woods, maple tour, artisan lunch or special event.
We're excited to share our fascinating sugarmaking process with you. Enjoy the seasonal menu in The Farm Stand Cafe and get a first hand view and taste of Crown Maple's organic syrup operations.
The farm looks towards the first signs of spring with a special weekend event coming up soon - a Ramps (Spring Onion) Foraging Excursion on May 4-5. Learn about this early spring wild crop and accompany our farmer out into the forest to pick your very own. Back at the sugarhouse, you'll get some great cooking tips for using them at home and enjoy a great lunch with ramps as a key ingredient. Look for more spring and summer events to unfold soon.
